The Vernier microscope 2152 is a more refined version of the popular 2150. It is one of the standard range of vernier microscopes used in schools and colleges. In addition to offering greater accuracy the 2152 also incorporates features enabling it to be used for a far greater range of experiments. The carriage slides on a cast-iron base. The carriage has a locking screw, release of which permits free manual movement. Fine adjustment is by fine screw thread at the end of the slide. The saddle carries the vernier, which is read by means of a swivelling magnifier. The 2152 can be mounted with its axis in any of three positions. The base carries a metal stage plate, this can be removed to allow the microscope to view through the base, enabling the microscope to be used as a short range cathetometer. |
