ON CONTACT MEASUREMENT USING

The Vernier microscope 2152D is a more refined version of the popular 2150. It is one of the standard range of vernier microscopes used in schools and colleges. In addition to offering greater accuracy the 2152D also incorporates features enabling it to be used for a far greater range of experiments. The carriage slides on a cast-iron base. Releasing the carriage locking screws allows free manual movement of the carriages. Fine adjustment is by means of the fine screw thread at the end of the slide. The saddle carries the digital reader which moves over a slide and gives a direct readout of distance travelled in metric or imperial. The 2152D can be mounted with its axis in any of three positions. The base is fitted with a metal stage plate which can be removed to allow the microscope to view through the base, enabling the microscope to be used as a short range cathetometer. |
The Vernier microscope 2158D has calibrated movements in one horizontal direction and also vertically. The cast-iron base has three levelling footscrews and is machined to take a kinematically mounted horizontal carriage which supports the vertical column. The carriage has a small circular level, and also carries a digital readout. The vertical column carries the vertical carriage on which is mounted the microscope. This microscope can be fitted to either side of the vertical column to suit the users preference, and can be set to the horizontal or vertical. The Base is fitted with a metal stage plate which can be removed to allow viewing through the base. |
